I look at the material like a painter. It can be a scratch or a stain that interests me. I remove parts which do not fit in the picture. I could not paint my objects more beautifully.

The German artist Brigitte Stahl creates works from found objects, which she reassembles. She finds the material for this on the street, on bulky waste or in containers; other parts she acquires specifically at markets or in shops. By alienating and elevating everyday objects to independent works of art, she amazes us, poses riddles and encourages us to think. By means of unusual combinations she raises questions about the nature of art and the beauty of everyday life, which we should answer ourselves. Her works have no titles, in order to leave room for personal interpretations.
In 2014 works by Brigitte Stahl were exhibited for the first time at the Galerie Wenger.
