STIJN COLE

*1978

My work is often linked to impressionism that the light wanted to portray, but it can also be linked to the pure concepts of Stanley Brouwn. I like to position myself somewhere in between.

Belgian artist Stijn Cole investigates in his work the correlation between colors and the perception under the influence of light and time. To do so he has developed his own work processes committing himself not only to a single genre or form but to a combination of them. He works two or three dimensional, with colors or monochrome, analog and digital. Stijn Cole paints, draws, photographs, prints and installs. In his works, his main focus is often a particular landscape, selected mountain stretches, parts of the ocean, motives of the sky or the horizon in numerous variations, often in editions or series.
In 2016 works of Stijn Cole were shown for the first time at the gallery.
